Daily Practice:
Technical Concepts: I warmed up before my lesson. Used an old CD from Kathy. It was a good warm-up. Warmed up to a high "b" comfortably, but still had to push a bit. Lots of "mum mum mum-ah ah ah" and classic warmups like that.
Minutes: 15
Repertoire: "I Cannot Hear the City" from The Sweet Smell of Success and "What is About Her" from The Wild Party. These are my Jason Robert Brown master class songs.
Minutes: 20
Success: I worked with Matt and then practiced my songs after that. I worked on using a "pure and bright" vowel, and using that to ease tension and relax in my voice. This made singing SO much more relaxing and the notes were much easier to hit, I'll go into more detail in my lesson section.
Areas of Improvement: Still working on the vowel thing...it's hard to get used to.
Notes: I feel like I'm singing right again! I feel really hopeful and inspired again!

Points Covered: Singing a pure bright vowel, singing supported, singing "below the belly button", using consonants for vowels, Not worrying about volume, using "ee" to get to "ah", and using a forward sound!
Notes: I feel like I'm back on track to being where I was months ago. I feel like I've taken many steps backwards, and now I'm prepping for my jump forward! This lesson really inspired me!
