Day 6: last day in NY

I had a late night with some friends and my phone died very early in the night, so I'm flogging now. Hope it doesn't hurt me but it still feels like night!

Saw Spiderman today! It was not the best piece if theatre I've seen. Not for being a 65 million dollar piece of theatre. Oh well. Glad I saw it to at least say I saw it!

Practice stuff:
Technical concepts: voice was feeling a little tight, so I did some easy warms. I lip tripled through my songs. Worked on crescendo decrescendo.

Minutes: 15

Repertoire: Hollywood and a little of "Perfect Finite" from Songs from an Unmmade Bed

Success: Hollywood sounds better using dynamics. It gas a lot more feeling to it. Perfect Finite is an easy piece that I wanted to brush up on. Sounded strong and had a lot if texture.

Areas of improvement: need to use more breath on decresendos. They sound to sudden. Could also use more breath on flip to falsetto. Makes it easier.

Notes: practicing at hone will be much easier!

  1. I'm so glad you're going strong on your challenge! I'm in Minnesota for the next six months, and I've been feeling so unmotivated lately without any theatre opportunities. Your blog totally got me off my ass and to the gym the other day, and it's reminding me of all the vocal and acting exercises that I could be doing by myself.
