It was a really fun trip to NYC, but I am glad to be home! Saw a whole lot of shows and caught up with some old friends! It was a nice little get-away for leonard and I as well. But now that I am home, I really need to crack down on starting some lessons, dance classes, yoga classes and get that performance in. I really want to make my performance one of my charitable deeds. (Anyone who is reading this...I was thinking a public performance of some Hair songs, linking it to the war at hand today and donating any donations to the local Red Cross...Contact me.)
So here is my practice stuff!
Technical concepts: Worked with a warm up CD that Kathy gave me when I went to CLOC. Great warmups, including whining, lip trills and low and high exercises.
Minuets: 10
Repertoire: Decided to to a break from "Hollywood" today, so I went with "Someone to Fall Back On" by JRB, and "I Need to Know" from Jekyll and Hyde!
Minutes: 20
Success: "I Need to Know" has gotten SO much easier than when I last sang it for CLOC auditions. The "A" at the end was comfortable and had a strong, natural vibrato to it! "Someone..." is such a beautiful song. I can relate to it so much, and really feel I show that through my singing.
Areas of improvement. The last time i sang "Someone" with Kathy, we focused a lot on my placement. I ad to really go through and figure out that placement I used to have. Once I worked it out for this song, "I Need to Know was much much easier.
Notes: Glad to be able to type on a full keyboard rather than a small phone one! Also, I don't feel as bad belting in my own home!
Healthy Meal #3
Meal Description: ALL organic noodles, chicken, olives, roasted tomatoes and olive oil sauce.

Rating: 10! So good and so healthy!
Healthy Meal #4 (Dinner)
Meal description: Spinach salad with chicken, edamame, quinoa, carrots, cucumber, feta and balsamic vinaigrette!
Restaurant or Market: Whole Foods
Rating: I love their salads here! so Definitely a 10. Very flavorful!
I'm glad to be home because I eat pretty healthy on a regular basis, so this should fly by!
